Bring Art to the Garden This Spring

My studio and my garden are my happy places — here’s how they come together.

There’s something magical about the shift into spring and summer—the way the days grow longer, the light gets warmer, and the garden slowly begins to bloom back to life. After months of being indoors, I find myself naturally drawn to the outdoors, my hands just as eager to dig into soil as they are to shape and fuse glass in the studio.

For me, the garden isn’t just a place to grow—it’s a place to create, to pause, and to connect with beauty in its most natural form. Just like my studio, it’s a space for experimentation and play. The color, texture, and rhythm of the garden mirror the same elements I work with in glass. Both are ever-evolving, shaped by season, light, and the moment.

One of my favorite ways to bring these two worlds together—art and nature—is through my Kaleidoscope Garden Totems. These pieces are more than just decorative sculptures. They’re a celebration of color, energy, and movement. Each one is made by layering hand-cut pieces of vibrant glass, then fusing them in the kiln to create a striking, dimensional piece that comes alive in the sunlight. They glisten in the morning light, cast shadows in the afternoon, and glow warmly as evening settles in.

Whether you have a sprawling garden or a small patio, these totems offer a beautiful way to add color and artistry to your outdoor space. I design them to be bold yet harmonious, eye-catching but never overpowering. They’re weather-safe and made to be enjoyed season after season—just like the garden itself.

As we step into this new season, I invite you to consider how art can live outside the gallery or the walls of your home. Let it live in your garden. Let it catch the sun, surprise your guests, and become part of your daily ritual—whether you're watering plants, sipping coffee on the porch, or watching the light shift throughout the day.

Thank you for being part of my creative journey. Whether you're a gardener, an art lover, or someone who simply enjoys surrounding yourself with beauty, I hope my glass work brings a little spark of joy to your space this season.
